The rock fortress of Sigiriya is another iconic landmark in Sri Lanka, known for its magnificent frescoes and stunning view from the top. Sri Lanka is also known for its stunning beaches, which stretch for miles along the coastline. The most popular beach destinations include Bentota, which offer pristine beaches, clear waters, and a range of water sports and activities. For those looking for a more cultural experience, Sri Lanka has a rich history and heritage, with a unique blend of Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. The ancient city of Kandy is a hub of Buddhist culture, home to the famous Temple of the Tooth, where a sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth is kept. The Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to a collection of stunning cave temples and Buddhist art. Sri Lanka is also famous for its tea plantations, with vast expanses of rolling hills covered in lush green tea bushes. The tea country of Nuwara Eliya is a popular destination for visitors, with its cool climate, stunning scenery, and tea factory tours.

Day-wise Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at airport, SkyRoute Travel’s representative will meet at Bandaranaike International airport and transferred to pre-booked Hotel. Afternoon get ready to visit the following places: Pinnawala-Dambulla –( Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Dambulla cave temple )

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage – It was established in1975 with the aim to provide shelter and care of orphaned elephants. Here now more than 80 elephants available, visitors can watch them being fed and bathed in the nearby river.

Dambulla Cave Temple : it is a UNESCO world heritage site and it consists of five caves filled with over 150 fabulous Buddhist statues. This temple is considered one of the best preserved and largest cave temple complexes in Sri Lanka. After visiting return to Hotel and overnight stay at Hotel Habarana Village by Cinnamon at Dambulla

Day 2: After breakfast, check out from Hotel and move to Kandy : Dambulla-Sigiriya -Matale-Kandy-(Sigiriya Rock , Matale Spice garden ,Cultural dance show ).

Sigiriya Rock – it is also known as the Lion Rock, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a towering rock formation that rises 200 meters about the surrounding jungle, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside from the top.

Matale Spice Garden – This garden is home to a wide variety of herbs and spices, including cinnamon, cardamom and pepper. Visitors may purchase some of the spices.

Cultural Dance show – There will be entertainment of traditional Sri Lankan music and Kandyan dance show at a local theater in Kandy. Overnight stay in Cinnamon Citadel Hotel Kandy.

 Day 3: Kandy-( Kandy city tour, Temple of Tooth ,Kandy viewpoint ,Leisure ). Today, after breakfast get ready for full day Kandy City tour covering the places (1) Temple of Tooth – one of the famous Buddhist temple and home to sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. (2) Kandy View Point (3) Peradeniya Botanical Gardens – Known for its impressive collection of orchids and more than 4,000 species of plants and trees (4) Kandy Lake (5) Bahirawakanda Temple – visit the temple and enjoy the panoramic views of Kandy city from the hilltop. Also enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Evening return to the Hotel and Overnight stay in Cinnamon Citadel Hotel Kandy.

Day 4: Kandy -Nuwara Eliya : (Tea Plantations & Tea gardens ,waterfalls ,Gregory lake ). After breakfast, check out from Hotel and move to Nuwara Eilya. Today you will be taken to (1) Horton Plains National Park – home to stunning landscapes, including Baker’s falls and world’s end view point (2) Pedro Tea Estate and Factory for a tea plantation tour and tea tasting season (3) Visit Victoria Park – a well maintained public park with a range of flora and fauna (4) Gregory Lake – enjoy a scenic boat ride or walk around the lake (5) Visit the Galway’s Land National Park – a stunning forest reserve with variety of wildlife. Around 5 pm return to Hotel and overnight stay at Mirage Kings Cottage, Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5 : Nuwara Eliya-Kitulgala -Bentota ( Hakgala Botanical garden, Seetha Amman Temple, Kitulgala white water rafting, Leisure ). After breakfast drive to Bentota and covering the places (1) Hakgala Botanical Garden – it was established in 19th century by the British rulers and is home to a wide variety of plant species, including roses, orchids and ferns. The Garden also offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys (2) Seetha Amman Temple – it is dedicated to the Goddess Seetha, wife of the Lord Rama and is believed to have been built on the site where Seetha was held captive by the demon King Ravana (3) Kitulgala White Water Rafting – It is a popular destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers, with stunning landscapes and range of outdoor activities including jungle trekking, bird watching and river rafting. Evening drive to Hotel and overnight stay in Cinnamon Bey Hotel at Bentota.

 Day 6: Full Day Tour – Bentota (water sports activities , Madu river boat safari Turtle Hatchery ,Leisure ) and cover the places (1) Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery – Learn about the conservation of sea turtles and witness the release of hatchlings into the ocean. (2) Brief Garden – a beautifully landscaped garden created by the famous architect Bevis Bawa (3) Bentota Beach – relax on the golden sands or enjoy water sports activities. (4) Madu River – enjoy a boat ride and explore the mangrove forests, islands and wildlife. (5) Visit the Kande Vihara Temple – a beautiful Buddhist temple with a giant Buddha statue. Evening return to hotel and overnight stay in Cinnamon Bey Hotel at Bentota.

Day 7 : Bentota -Colombo (65 kms 1 hour and 30 minutes travel) (Colombo city tour plus shopping , Colombo Lotus Tower ,Leisure ). After breakfast drive to Colombo. Check in Hotel and Full day City Tour covering places (1) Gangaramaya Temple – one of the most important Buddhist temples in Colombo, with impressive architecture and a fascinating museum. (2) Independence Memorial Hall – a symbol of Sri Lanka’s independence from British ruler, with beautiful architecture and gardens. (3) National Museum – showcasing Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage, including artifacts from ancient times to colonial periods.(4) Old Parliament Building, a colonial-era building that now houses the Presidential Secretariat. (5) Galle Face Green – a popular promenade overlooking the Indian ocean, where local gather for leisure activities. Evening shopping at Pettah Market – a bustling bazaar with a range of goods from textiles to spices and souvenirs. Return to Hotel and overnight stay at Movenpik Hotel, Colombo.

Day 08: After breakfast drive to Colombo-Airport ( Departure )
