Every Hindu is expected to undertake a pilgrimage to Kashi-Rameswaram at least once in their life. The main purpose of Kashi Rameswaram Yatra is to perform Vedic rituals to appease our forefathers (ancestors) and for the welfare of our family and future generations. Kashi Vishwanath and Rameshwaram Ramanathaswamy are one of the most important jyotirlingas in India. Kashi (Varanasi) is one of the most charming and holy cities of India. This city is spiritual and blessed by the lord Shiva. The pilgrims believed that taking a sacred dip in the holy waters of river Gangas in Kashi will get ride all sins and attain salvation. Kashi is one of the seven holy pilgrimage sites in Hinduism, which bless the pilgrims with moksha (ie liberation from the cycle of the birth and death). Witnessing the evening Ganga Arati is one of the most significant and memorable things in Kashi and you can enjoy boat riding in the holy river ganga and capturing the sunrise and sunset views is a quite pleasant experience in Kashi. Rameshwaram – According to Hindu epic Ramayana, Shri Ramar (the seventh avatar of the God Vishnu) prayed to Shiva in Rameshwaram to absolve any sins that he might have committed during his war against the demon-king Ravana in Sri Lanka. This temple has two jyotirlingas, one made by the Lord Rama and another brought by Hanuman from Kashi. It is said that the jyotirlinga brought by Hanuman is a replica of the Kasi Vishwanath jyotirlinga.
